Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Gin
  • 1.5 oz Blood orange juice
  • .5 oz Simple syrup
  • 1 oz Lemon juice
  • Sparkling water

Instructions

  • Begin by juicing the blood oranges and the lemons. Measure the appropriate amount of liquids for all ingredients.
  • To a shaker, add a handful of ice. Then add the gin, simple syrup, lemon juice, and blood orange juice. Close the lid and shake for at least 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Pour contents into a chilled coupe glass and top with sparkling water or champagne. Garnish with a dried citrus slice and enjoy!

Notes

  • Chill the glasses ahead of time by adding ice cubes to the glass along with cold water. Dump out when ready to add cocktail.
  • I encourage juicing the blood oranges and lemons by hand, as fresh juice will always taste the best!
  • Easily make simple syrup by simmering 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water until dissolved. You could also make a Vanilla Bean Simple Syrup.
