In the Instant Pot, turn on the "sauté" function and heat olive oil.
Add minced garlic, then uncooked orzo and stir with a wooden spoon. Sauté for about 2 minutes, until orzo just turns lightly golden.
Press "cancel" on the Instant Pot to turn off the sauté function.
Add broth and use the wooden spoon to scrape the bottom of the pot. Gently stir.
Place the lid on the Instant Pot and set the valve to "sealing."
Pressure cook on high pressure for 1 minute.
The pot will take a few minutes to come to pressure, then the 1 minute timer will begin.
After the timer goes off, press "cancel" and natural pressure release (do nothing and let the pot sit there) for just one more minute.
Then, using a spoon or spatula, carefully release all of the remaining pressure by switching the valve to venting.
Remove the lid from the Instant Pot and use a wooden spoon to stir and fluff the orzo, making sure none of it is sticking to the bottom of the pot.
Add 1 tablespoon salt and stir to combine.
Serve as is, as a side dish, or store for later!
