Lemonade Mojito

This delicious cocktail takes the classic mojito and makes it even easier to make by using lemonade! Refreshing and simple, this lemonade mojito is the best!

Ingredients

  • 2 oz White rum
  • cup Lemonade of choice
  • 1 Lime juiced, about ¼ cup
  • 5 Fresh mint leaves plus more for garnish
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Measure out the alcohol, lemonade, and lime juice.
  • I highly recommend squeezing the lime juice fresh.
  • In a shaker, add alcohol, lemonade, lime juice, and mint leaves.
  • Secure the lid and shake aggressively for at least 30 seconds, until your hands are very cold from the shaker.
  • Use a fine mesh strainer in addition to the strainer with your shaker, to double-strain the mojito into a glass.
  • Add additional ice to your glass to your liking.
  • Since you double strained the cocktail, there should not be any pieces of mint in the drink.
  • Choose an attractive mint bunch and clap it between your hands to release some of the fragrant oils.
  • Top with sparkling water if desired.
  • Garnish your drink with said mint bunch and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use a high quality lemonade that you enjoy the taste of on it's own! Or, for a lighter option, use a low sugar or low calorie lemonade.
  • If possible, I highly encourage you to squeeze your own lime juice. You'll taste the difference!
  • White rum is the best option, but I'd advise against using flavored and cheap rums, such as Malibu. Opt for a good quality white rum (Plantation Rum is a great option), or use a tequila or gin in a pinch!
