Sit back and relax with this super refreshing Limoncello Spritz! Just 3 simple ingredients that make the perfect drink for a hot day.
Summer is the season for spritz-ing. I know that the aperol spritz has become wildly popular in the warmer months, but I think this one might just be better. Made with just Limoncello liqueur, prosecco, and club soda, this refreshing spritz couldn't be any easier.
I recommend drinking this very chilled, with ice cubes or maybe frozen fruit! If you are having a party or large gathering, you can easily double, triple, or quadruple (or more!) this recipe to have limoncello spritz pitchers!

Recipe Origin
Of course, the Limoncello Sprits (often called the "Amalfi Spritz") comes from the south of Italy. This is no surprise, as limoncello is a very common Italian digestif – meaning that it is typically served after the dinner meal to be sipped as an aid in digestion.

Expert Tips & Tricks:
- Limoncello spritz is best served cold, so use ice cubes OR use frozen fruit, frozen lemon slices, or even frozen prosecco cubes!
- Try to find a good quality limoncello, so that you get more of the citrus flavor, and less of the inherent bitterness! Ask for recommendations at your local wine/liquor store.
- Any type of sparkling wine will suffice. Prosecco is traditional, but champagne or cava work great too. Keep in mind that some sparkling wines are sweeter and have different flavor profiles than others.
Recipe FAQs
Limoncello spritz is refreshing, light, citrus-forward, and slightly bitter. Perfect for sipping in the hot weather!
Typically, limoncello has around 30% ABV (alcohol by volume). This is less than a straight spirit like gin or vodka, but more than wine or beer. The ABV van vary by producer, though.
Though it can confuse many foreigners, Limoncello is meant to be sipped, despite it usually being served in a shot-glass. Limoncello is a digestif, meaning it is served after a large meal to aid in digestion, with the intent to be sipped.
